My New Puppy!!!

“The bond with a true dog is as lasting as the ties of this earth will ever be.”
Konrad Lorenz

And just like that I am a puppy momma! My little baby girl surprised me on December 23, 2017 and I cannot fathom the overwhelming emotions that flooded me the moment she walked through the front door.

Let me start off by mentioning how I was sitting on the kitchen floor just bawling my eyes out because I was in such a happy shock.

I had not the slightest clue that she was coming into my life, but she did and has changed me for the absolute best.

My baby girl’s name is Ellie Lou, but we call her Lulu for short. She is a boxer and weighed just over five pounds at eight weeks old, the night she came home! Lulu is the tiniest peanut who has so much love and spunk, which is exactly what I was missing in my life.

She is now twelve weeks old, and a whopping twelve pounds. She sleeps with her entire tongue out, occasionally runs so fast she forgets how to stop, and accidentally sits while she pees.

More than that, she just wants to play ALL DAY LONG and take little power naps in our lap with her head nuzzled into our necks to re-energize herself for more sprints and games of catch me if you can. She only knows love, as do all dogs, and I think that alone speaks for itself.

I was a hot mess for a good amount of time and did not feel like anything was going right. Then this little bundle of energy comes into life and just makes everything feel like it will be okay, especially while experiencing one of the most difficult things life can possibly put in our path. Lou really is the light in a really dark and twisted world right now.

I am learning things everyday from just her little quirks and puppy life that I am so lucky to be a part of. So I will most definitely compile a list of all the things she has taught me.

This is just a complete appreciation post and I really just wanted to do a little life update by writing how amazing my girl really is.

Thank you all for reading! Comment down below if you have a puppy and what you have learned from them!
